The open house New York OHNY weekend is a citywide celebration of architecture and landscape architecture. On october 18-20, 2019, more than 300 historic and contemporary sites across New York city will open their doors to the public, including the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It is now a manufacturing headquater. VERDANT designed and oversaw construction of an oasis of green within this bustling work environment. During the open house, visitors can have the opportunity to meader through a series of interconnecting gravel paths within the forest.

Located at the entrance building 128 of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Enclosed Forest re-imagines the atrium of a manufacturing headquarters as an immersive botanical experience. In collaboration with architects MNDPC, and client Crye Precision, VERDANT designed and oversaw constructing of an oasis of green within a busling work environment. And now, this project is awarded by the American Institute of Architects New York, honored Interiors Merit Award in 2020.

The restaurant is on Carmine Street in Greenwich Village, next door to the longtime site of House of Oldies record store and across the street from Unoppressive Non-Imperialist Bargain Books. They selected VERDANT to create their exterier planting design. The juxtaposition between delicate indoor and wild outdoor decoration gives guests a magic experience while they are eating.
